40MW/80MWh Customer-Side Grid-Forming Energy Storage Power Station in Belarus


Project Positioning:
The customer is a thermal power plant with loads requiring peak shaving and valley filling, while also needing grid-side inertia support and frequency regulation.


Core Configuration:
8 sets of 5MW/10MWh standardized energy storage units + grid-forming PCS + step-up integrated skid


Technical Highlights:

  • Virtual inertia time constant: 2 seconds

  • Primary frequency regulation response time: ≤50ms

  • Regulation settling time: ≤1 second

  • Black start capability: can provide startup power for the 6kV regional power grid during grid failures

  • Wide-band oscillation suppression: provides positive damping in the 0.2–2.5Hz frequency band, eliminating grid "flicker" / power fluctuations


Implementation Results:

  • Improves power stability of the Belarus thermal power plant project

  • Provides effective support during grid faults

  • Black start capability

  • Achieves 3x overload for 10 seconds
